Last Friday, our team had the pleasure of visiting the incredible seniors at Morris Heights Health Center. MHHC is renowned for its caring atmosphere and commitment to making a home away from home for the aging. As one of their extracurricular, extraordinary doings, they host a pre-holiday party and event for the seniors to have fun and enjoy treats and a fun program.
A week earlier, the MHHC rep reached out and invited us to join the celebration. It meant a lot for us because we love engaging with the community and doing positive activities. Yes, we do care for living, but it’s different to do a day of volunteering out and about in our beloved community on a random Friday. So yippie – with our spirits high and a basket full of treats, we set out for a day to bring some joy to their day!
As we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest welcome from the staff, who treated us to delightful refreshments. Credits to MHHC; they know how to make guests feel at home! So many smiles and so many goodies! Nothing says “we care” quite like a plate of cookies and a cup of juice!
But we didn’t go to be served. We have joined MHHC for this event as a partner in bringing smiles. So we got into our gear. And if you know the White Glove team by now, you know there’s quite a bunch of humor amongst the ranks. The giggles were contagious, and seeing the resident’s open joy was heartwarming.
While we devoted our day to serving the community, it felt more like a family gathering than a traditional volunteer event. The genuine connections we formed reminded us that service comes in many forms, and it’s not just about what you do—but how you do it.

We left with our hearts full and a renewed commitment to making a difference in our community. Until next time, Morris Heights—we can’t wait to visit again!
